The educational and professional program “Physical Therapy” is directed to formation and development of professional competences of the specialists capable to solve the difficult specialized tasks and practical problems which are connected with disturbances of organ and system functions, in particular, musculoskeletal system, nervous system, cardiovascular and respiratory systems with the use of provisions, theories and methods of medico-biological, social, psychology and pedagogical sciences.

Employment and competitive advantages of graduates of the program
Graduates are able to hold positions with qualification requirements for a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy in economic entities that carry out such economic activities (according to the Classification of economic activities SC 009:2010):

A bachelor in the specialty 227 Physical therapy, ergotherapy can perform the professional work according to The State Occupational Classification SC 003:2010, of 26.10.2017 No. 1542 and hold the following primary offices:
3226 – assistant of physical therapist;
3226 – massage therapist;
3226 – sports massage therapist.
A bachelor in the specialty 227 Physical therapy, ergotherapy has the right to continue study on the second (master’s) level of higher education for receiving the master’s degree and also in other specialties of the humanitarian and social-economic direction after graduation on the educational and professional program. Gaining the additional qualifications in the system of post-degree education.
Program results of study
After the end of the educational and professional program, its graduates will be capable to use their gained knowledge of the profound level, namely:
to demonstrate preparedness to strengthen and preserve personal and social health through the use of human motor activity and carrying out explanatory work among patients/clients, their family members, medical professionals, as well as to improve the environment of society;
to communicate Ukrainian and foreign languages orally and in writing in a professional environment, to know professional terminology and professional discourse, to adhere to the ethics of business communication; to draw up documents, including foreign language (s);
to use modern computer technology; to find information from different sources to analyze domestic and foreign sources of information needed to perform professional tasks and make professional decisions;
to apply knowledge of biological, medical, pedagogical and psychosocial aspects of physical therapy to professional activities;
to administer pre-medical care at emergency and pathological processes in organism; to choose the best methods and means to preserve life;
to use methods to determine and measure structural changes and impaired functions of organism, activity and participation, to interpret the received information;
to interpret patient/client violations under the International Classification of Functioning, Restriction of Life and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Functioning, Limitation of Life and Health of Children and Adolescents (ICF CA);
to act in accordance with legal requirements and professional ethics;
to implement individual physical therapy programs;
to carry out physical therapy activities to eliminate or compensate for motor disorders and activity;
to apply modern scientific evidence to professional activities;
to choose optimal forms, methods and techniques that would ensure patient/client respect, safety/protection, comfort and frequency;
to use safely and efficiently equipment for rehabilitation activities, monitoring of patient’s basic vital characteristics, auxiliary technical rehabilitation facilities for movement and self-service;
to communicate verbally and non-verbally with persons and groups of interlocutors, different in age, level of education, social and professional affiliation, psychological and cognitive qualities and etc., in a multidisciplinary team;
to provide guidance and training to clients, their families, colleagues and small groups;
to assess results of physical therapy programs using appropriate tools and, if necessary, modulate ongoing activities;
to assess yourself critically, to learn new professional information, to deepen knowledge through self-education, to evaluate and present your own experience, to analyze and apply experience of colleagues;
to apply professional activities in accordance with the needs of health, cultural values and traditions of the population of Ukraine.
